In the fall of 2022, Candace received TWO awards for life-time contributions to Canadian writing:
• In September, she became the lucky 13th Saskatchewan writer to receive the Cheryl and Henry Kloppenburg Award for Literary Excellent. Watch her acceptance video here.
• In November, she was honoured to receive the Matt Cohen Award in Celebration of a Writing Life. More about that here.
• Candace was nominated by l’Assemblée communautaire fransaskoise for their Prix amies des fransaskois, to recognize Strangers in the House/Des Iconnus sous mon toît.
• Strangers in the House was re-released in the fall of 2020 as Des Inconnus sous mon toît: une histoire d’exclusion les francophones des Plaines, a translation by Michel Saint-Germain, published by Québec-Amérique.
A Geography of Blood was chosen as the featured book for the Saskatchewan Library Association One Book One Province project in March, 2020.
